Artisan D. Del Reverda-Jennings, creator of
SEVENTH GODDESS JEWELRY DESIGN™
As a Midwest-based, native of Alaska, I have come to be a prolific award-winning interdisciplinary artist who has exhibited work for nearly two decades. The fields that I practice include visual, curatorial and the literary arts. I am a passionate, invested cultural worker and have been involved with grass-roots arts centered outreach for decades as an intermediary or liaison. I currently work and freelance as an art administrator, arts facilitator, designer and am a seasoned art adjudicator and grants panelist serving as an annual Scholastic Art and Writing Awards adjudicator, a past Regional Indiana Arts Commission Advisory Grants Panelist Juror, a past Indiana Artisan Project Grants Adjudicator, and former IVY Tech College Advisory Board member.
FLAVA FRESH !, my initiative and artist development/exhibition/exposure platform was recently awarded the prestigious 2019, "ARTI, A Full Creative Life For All Award" from the Arts Council of Indianapolis for the highly acclaimed annual juried, art exhibition presentation series of contemporary art which is currently celebrating its twenty-third anniversary.
As a committed arts advocate/activist in addition to the depth of connection to community, I have lectured at a number of prominent academic institutions in the region in relation to the impressively large but marginalized treasure of African American artists/Artists' of Color that reside and practice in Indiana. I have written about, documented and published the work of contemporary Artists' of Color in Indiana in volumes of newspapers, print and online publications extensively. I am known as being a vocal and active voice for inclusion and ethical arts & cultural practices in and beyond the arts industry, am honored to be a Central Indiana Community Foundation, Artist Ambassador and have partnered with numerous major arts entities within the region for over two decades to bring exhibitions, related events and interaction with artists to those who would not ordinarily have knowledge of or access to their creativity.
I have been recognized for creating a broad range of work inclusive of sculpture, painting and mixed-media, installation, conceptual work, public art and for my multidisciplinary role in the artworld as a published journalist, arts editor, author and poet. Most recently I was blessed with an On-Ramp Fellowship by the Indiana Arts Commission as an award-winning accessories designer inclusive of the collections of jewelry which I produce under the brand SEVENTH GODDESS JEWELRY DESIGN™.
My fine artwork has been exhibited in local, national and International group shows and in solo exhibitions. Select pieces of my work are held in private and corporate collections including the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History in Detroit, Mr. and Mrs. Cohen of Evanston, Illinois, the Sullivan-Townsend family, Chicago, Illinois, the internationally syndicated Home and Garden Television (HGTV) series "Discovery Inc.', the Art Museum of Greater Lafayette, Indiana, The Indianapolis Neighborhood Resource Center, the former Winona Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana among others, as well as patrons in the Caribbean and in Canada.
